About
Work did not end when AI generated the first version. It moved.
AI changed how quickly anyone can create. A draft in seconds, a prototype in minutes, a concept from idea to output faster than ever. Finishing did not speed up the same way, and it did not stop mattering. It just became the whole job.
Why we built it
Two groups of people, one gap between them.
On one side: people who now generate more than they can finish, in crafts they do not have. On the other: designers, developers, editors, producers whose skill is exactly the finishing, watching the first 70% of their old work get automated. The gap between those two groups is the work after AI, and nothing was built to connect them fairly.
General freelance marketplaces were built for blank-page briefs and bid-down pricing. They do not understand that the brief is already in the output, that "almost right" hides its errors, or that the value is the delta a person makes. After AI Work is built around those three facts.
What we care about
Six things.
Fair to both sides
Funded before work, paid on approval, scope fixed first, disputes decided by a craft peer. Neither side carries the other's risk.
Skilled people, paid properly
Vetting keeps the pool small. No bid-down auction. Experts set their price for skilled work, and the platform earns only when they do.
The record matters
The AI source, the human changes and the decisions belong together, permanently. It is how trust, disputes and disclosure all work.
Honesty about AI
We do not hide that AI was used, on the platform or on this site. Disclosure is a feature. Every job produces one.
Finished is the measure
Not jobs posted, not hours logged. Work that a named person approved against a definition they agreed to.
Describe only what is real
No "revolutionary", no invented numbers, no features that do not exist yet. In this category especially, credibility is the product.
How we talk about AI
Not the problem. Not the replacement.
We do not frame AI as the enemy of the experts here, and we do not claim it cannot produce finished work. Our position is narrower: where a person is accountable for a result, the work between output and result is skilled, deserves a fair price, and deserves a record.
- We say "AI-generated work" for the object and "expert work" for what follows, without implying every output is poor.
- We stay neutral about which AI tools requesters use. The platform works the same for all of them.
- We disclose how AI was used in our own content, on every guide.
The name
After AI Work.
Three words, always in this order and casing. It names the category and the platform at once. The mark is two circles: a grey one for the AI draft, a green one for finished work, and the arrow that carries the work from one to the other. That arrow is a person.
Draft to done, by hand. That is the whole idea, and it is on every icon.
